Terms of Use

Last updated June 5, 2026

These Terms govern your use of LeanLab, a personal body-recomposition tracker. Please read them — in particular section 2 (not medical advice) and section 10 (limitation of liability), which are the most important.

In short: LeanLab gives you estimates and recommendations from mathematical formulas. It is not medical advice, and you are solely responsible for your own health decisions. Always consult a qualified professional before changing your diet or training.

Summary of key points

This summary highlights the most important points. Full detail is in the numbered sections below.

Is LeanLab medical advice?
No. LeanLab is a tracking tool that produces estimates and recommendations from mathematical formulas (calorie, macro, and training targets). It is not medical, nutritional, or healthcare advice and is not a substitute for a doctor, dietitian, or other qualified professional.
Who is responsible for my health?
You are. You alone are responsible for all decisions about your diet, training, supplementation, and health. Always consult a qualified professional before starting any diet or exercise programme, especially if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or are under 18.
Are LeanLab's numbers guaranteed?
No. Every target, timeline, and projection is an estimate based on population-level formulas and the data you enter. Individual results vary. We do not guarantee any specific outcome, weight, body-fat level, or timeline.
What is LeanLab not liable for?
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LeanLab and its operator are not liable for any injury, health outcome, loss, or damage arising from your use of the app or reliance on its estimates. You use LeanLab entirely at your own risk.
Who can use LeanLab?
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding agreement. You must provide accurate information and keep your account secure.
Can my account be terminated?
Yes. You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that misuse the service or violate these Terms.

1. About LeanLab and these Terms

LeanLab (“LeanLab,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a personal body-recomposition tracker available at leanlab.dev and as an installable Progressive Web App. These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of LeanLab.

By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using LeanLab, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

2. Not medical advice — the most important term

LeanLab is a tracking and calculation tool, not a provider of medical, nutritional, or healthcare advice. Everything LeanLab shows you — calorie targets, macro splits, training plans, time-to-goal projections, diet-break suggestions — is generated automatically from standard mathematical formulas applied to the numbers you enter. These are general estimates, not personalised professional advice.

LeanLab does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. It is not a substitute for the advice of a physician, registered dietitian, or other qualified health professional. Never disregard professional advice, or delay seeking it, because of something LeanLab calculated.

You should consult a qualified professional before beginning any diet, fasting, calorie deficit, supplementation, or exercise programme — and you must do so if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have or suspect an eating disorder, or have any cardiovascular, metabolic, renal, or other medical condition.

3. Your responsibility for your own health

You are solely and entirely responsible for all decisions you make about your own body, diet, training, and health, and for any consequences of those decisions. LeanLab only presents recommendations based on formulas and the data you provide; the choice to act on them — and how — is always yours.

You are responsible for entering accurate data and for using your judgement. If a target or recommendation feels wrong, unsafe, or extreme for you, do not follow it. Listen to your body and seek professional guidance.

4. Estimates, no guarantees

LeanLab’s outputs are mathematical estimates derived from population-level equations (for example, energy-expenditure and macronutrient formulas) and the inputs you give. They are necessarily approximate. Real-world results depend on countless individual factors LeanLab cannot measure.

We make no warranty or guarantee that you will reach any particular weight, body-fat percentage, appearance, or result, or that you will do so within any projected timeline. Projections and “time-to-goal” figures are illustrative only.

5. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use LeanLab. Sign-up is open, but an account becomes usable only after you confirm your email address.

You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping access to your email (used for passwordless sign-in) secure. Provide accurate information and keep it current. Do not impersonate others or create accounts for anyone under 18.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use LeanLab for anything unlawful or in breach of these Terms;
  • attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours, or probe, scan, or test the security of the Services;
  • disrupt, overload, or interfere with the Services, or attempt to circumvent rate limits, bot protection, or authentication;
  • copy, scrape, reverse-engineer, or build a competing product from the Services except as permitted by law.

7. Your data and content

The body-recomposition data you log is yours. How we handle it is described in our Privacy Policy. You can view, export, and delete your data at any time from the Account screen in Settings.

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter. Some of what you log (for example body measurements or body-fat estimates) may be health-related; you choose to record it, for yourself.

8. Intellectual property

LeanLab, its name, logo, design, methodology presentation, and software are owned by us and protected by intellectual-property law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use LeanLab for your own personal tracking. No other rights are granted.

9. Availability and changes

LeanLab is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, and we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may update these Terms; material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above, and your continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LeanLab is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of any estimate or recommendation.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LeanLab and its operator shall not be liable for any injury, illness, health outcome, loss, or damage of any kind arising from or related to your use of the Services or your reliance on any estimate, target, or recommendation they produce. You use LeanLab at your own risk.

Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable mandatory law — including, for consumers in Norway and the EEA, rights that cannot be waived. The limitations above apply only to the extent the law permits.

11. Consumer rights, governing law, and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway. If you are a consumer, you also benefit from any mandatory protections of the law of the country where you live, and nothing here removes those rights.

As a Norwegian consumer service, your statutory rights are protected by Norwegian law and overseen by bodies such as the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet) for consumer-protection matters and the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) for data-protection matters. You may contact Forbrukertilsynet about consumer disputes, and Datatilsynet (see our Privacy Policy) about how your personal data is handled.

We’d always rather resolve issues directly first — please contact us before pursuing a formal dispute.

12. Contact

Questions about these Terms? Reach us through the contact option in Settings, or by replying to any LeanLab email. We aim to respond within 30 days.

By using LeanLab you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy.
